About Areta
I have worked in the finance and accounting world for more than 30 years, wearing many hats throughout my career. My experience ranges from bookkeeping in a bank trust department to serving as an assistant controller for a small business, as well as working as a finance manager for a nonprofit serving individuals with disabilities. I also spent 30 years as an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech and the University of Notre Dame. Today, I focus my expertise on payroll, processing weekly payrolls and managing the related tax filings. My years in education have shaped me into an educator at heart, and I bring that same teaching mindset to help clients better understand their payroll and tax processes.
I hold a BS in Finance and Management/Administration and an MBA, both from Indiana University, South Bend. I am certified in Microsoft Word, Access, and Outlook, and I believe strongly in continuing to grow my skills. I grew up in New Carlisle, Indiana, and now reside in South Bend, Indiana, with my husband of 34 years. We have three grown children and two dogs, Phoebe and Cleo. Outside of work, I enjoy sailing with my husband on our sailboat, a passion we discovered together five years ago, as well as crafting, sewing, painting, and traveling with my family.
